Here's my friend Victor the Vampire Bat that I have been working with this semester. The assignment was to take five different expressions and express them in five different ways. Here's glad, sad, mad, egad!, and - here's my bad attempt to create a confused/questioning synonym that rhymes - "was it that bad?"

Selfie Sunday: Rafiki and Friends
The past week went really well. I am working on my thesis, learning ZBrush, threading through Processing and getting new projects to animate on. This next week is going to be stellar by means of what I hope to accomplish.
This weekend was the big Halloween-celebration weekend. I got to dress up as Rafiki (complete with three layers of pants that included some leggings with a hole cut in them). Simba and I got to meet lots of people such as Bob Ross, Spock, Bat Dad, Crash Bandicoot and Aku Aku, Jack and Wendy Torrance. Hence the excited baboon-y selfie I have created for the week.
The Halloween festivities will reach their peak on Thursday when I get the chance to attend a student-only conversation with The Brothers Quay at the Wexner Center!
This week I learned about three new awesome resources. Buffer and Hoot Suite are cool ways to help organize messy social media madness. Patreon is a creative solution/reaction to Kickstarter (Rad Fortress is in the process of setting up a cool page). Check them out!
I am in the process of tightening up my website and demo reel for the CTN Animation Expo. Part of this experience means I get to take a silly drawing such as this little doggie on my right into a fun lively little guy to greet visitors to my page. I am also going to be sculpting him in ZBrush!
This doggie will also end up being slightly interactive. Thank goodness for how helpful http://processing.org is. What is a helpful resources that you recommend?

Life Drawing Week 9/This week in Doodle-Sketches
For portfolio class, I wrote a blog about how my affinities, abilities, and opportunities line up. The post really got my gears going in a good direction... and had me starting some emails. In class, I made some doodles/sketches with a pilot pen and "Salad" (yes, I buy Copic markers solely based on their names).

Lil Sketch Book
In lieu of missing the summertime, I remembered that I never scanned most of the sketches I did. So here are a handful of them! Enjoy!

Blog Glob
Today marks an epiphany of a day. I just realized you can merge blogs together. I had a feeling it was possible, and here we are! I just mashed my Cafe Sketch Fall 2012 blog and my current Character Design Fall 2013 blog into THIS blog, to make a super-blog.
So yes, just to clarify: there might be some slight unnecessary moments of "I am doing this on my other blog" in some of my previous posts that will still be there that I may or may not get around to cleaning up. In the meantime, I am so happy I figured this out! Now, to getting the hang of tagging posts appropriately.

This Week In Ketchup
This Week In Ketchup: a weekly recap of life. By weekly, I mean, I did a similar thing last week.
This week was full of paper-writing, finishing a sketchbook, visiting with family, and signing up for my final college courses. Craziness.
I drew lots of hands for Character Design class, where I discovered the amazing Nightmares Fear Factory Flickr. Just in time for Halloween!
I had my Hardcow featured in the first of many iterations of Rad Fortress Showcase. I also got to show the piece to a bunch of prospective-student parents, which I hope didn't upset them too much.
I also made a fun little gif and animated a bit for the next Rad Fortress cartoon.
What else? Well, I made thumbnailed, quick storyboards for Portfolio class (new post soon). I realized what my final project in interactive design is going to be, and I started doodling/drawing my Youtube friend, Jarrod Alonge. More finished stuff in the works, I do promise!
